The Bastianelli Fundraiser held on March 8, 2008 was a great success. Through ColtonCares, I was able to raise $300 for Matthew and Melissa Bastianelli to help toward the purchase of a wheelchair van to transport their power wheelchairs. I would like to thank everyone for their generous donations. Please know that you helped a truly remarkable family. After a nice introduction from Dr. Webster, Chief of Pediatric Rehabilitation at Tufts Medical Center, and after saying a few words to the Bastianelli family and the two hundred fifty or so guests in attendance, I was surprised and honored when they presented me with an Above and Beyond Award for my commitment toward spreading awareness about Cerebral Palsy. Thank you to the Bastianelli family and Dr. Webster for this great award. What a memorable night! I wish the Bastianelli family all the best, and I thank them for inviting me to be part of such a wonderful and meaningful event.
